I'm Luke, I'm a 17-year-old student at college, I regularly compete in Athletics, running for a local club and the county since I was 9.
What inspired you to give our products a try? Why did you feel like you needed Caffeine Bullet, Brain Bullet, Ginger Roars or Electro Bullet?
Dad was recommended them by an ultra runner friend who said that they would be good for his cycling events. I tried one just before a 1500m Midland league race after a bad night’s sleep and somehow got a PB. I've used them ever since.
How did you find the taste and ease of use of our products? What do you typically use them for and why do you prefer them to alternative products?
They're really nice, not overly strong. Quickly melt in your mouth and easy to take out of the wrapper. I usually don't eat for a while before races/running as I get a stitch, but one Caffeine Bullet has only produced positive results so far, as I'm not the biggest fan of gels or energy drinks.
How has Performance Bullet played a part in your journey to smash your personal bests? (This can be inside or outside of sport). How did it make you feel to smash your personal best?
Used them 4 times in the month since getting them, and won 4 races with a PB every time.
I feel over the moon as some of these performances have been when it’s been very hot, which I usually don't cope with as well as one event was after a poor night’s sleep.
I am very pleased with my progress as I am climbing up the Power of 10 Midland/UK rankings in events that I haven't really done much before, as I previously preferred longer distances—also pleased as I'm 17 years old competing in the U20 category.
I find that a chew 10 min or so before an event gives me that bit of a buzz, making me alert, and a burst of energy. I think they may be useful for when I have my exams as well.
There are no crashes or lows after either of which I hear people get when having energy products.
Looking forward to using these when the XC season comes. Cold early start races up against older, stronger, and more experienced opposition over longer distances than I am used to as a junior, until now.
For those considering trying any of our products, what advice would you share?
Definitely use them for race days when you want that extra edge. Keep a pack in your race day bag and have one 10 minutes before a race. Oh, buy your own and don’t nick your Dad’s like I did!!
What PBs have Performance Bullet helped you set (what was your previous PB and what is it now? How long did it take you to set that PB?)
So far in the last 4 weeks, I've used these at 3 race days.
1st event: 11 sec PB in the 1500m in a Midland league event.
One week later: PB in the 800m and became Worcestershire county U20 champion in the county championships.
Last Saturday: Won the 1500m again against stiff opposition on a very hot track (which normally knocks me and my performances about). Managed another PB, knocking off about 4.5 sec off the 1500 time I had made just a week earlier. Also volunteered to do the 2nd leg of the 4x400m relay and ran full of energy, alertness, and confidence despite 400m not being a distance I have run in years… and we won against some strong opposition.
PBs:
1500m Pre-Caffeine Bullet: 4 min 23.5 sec → Now: 4 min 9.47 sec
800m Pre-Caffeine Bullet: 2 min 08.88 sec → Now: 2 min 1.4 sec
Also ran a best-ever (even though it was a relay 2nd leg) 400m of 53.9 sec
